After the vacation booking is before the vacation planning. And since there are so many different ways to make the most of the day in our region, I asked some of my colleagues what they like to do and highly recommend.
My question was: if you had to create a vacation bucket list for our guests, what would be your #1 item on the list?
I do not want to withhold the answers from you!
Mäggi:
With this question, I don't have to think long - at the top of my list are the marmots at the Bachlalm in Filzmoos. This can be reached in 1-1.5 hours on foot or you can take the marmot shuttle. The marmots are quite tame, can be stroked and if you have carrots with you, the little animals will even eat out of your hand.
Lars:
If you ask me, a trip to the Dachstein is a must! The gondola ride alone is a highlight - past the mighty south walls of the Dachstein massif, up to 2,700 meters in altitude. Apart from the breathtaking view, the suspension bridge, the staircase to nowhere and the ice palace await you up there. The valley station is only 30 minutes by car from the Neubergerhof.
Lisi:
Sunsets are magical, don't you think? They are even better in connection with a summit happiness. That's where the Sulzenschneid in Filzmoos offers itself perfectly. When the last rays of sunlight hit your face, the sun then disappears behind the Bischofsmütze and dusk begins - this is my favorite moment. The hike starts at the Wallehenhütte, which you can reach in about 15 minutes by car via the Hofalm toll road. From there you walk about 1-1.5 hours to the summit.
Hannes:
My vacation bucket list number 1 is definitely the Aualm. Here you can perfectly combine the pleasure of hiking with the enjoyment of the alpine cuisine. My hot tip: Try the shredded pancake with plum roaster. The best thing is to rent an e-bike from the iBike box at the Neubergerhof and ride it over the Marcheggsattel to the Aualm.
Xandi:
My top tip is the Wild Waters in Rohrmoos/Schladming. The drive from Neubergerhof takes 45 minutes, which is a bit longer, but it's definitely worth it. On the "Alpinsteig durch die Höll" you hike up several stairs next to the waterfall. At the top, the beautifully situated Riesachsee awaits you. A scenery of the extra class.
Anna-Maria:
At the top of my personal bucket list is the zipline on the Stoderzinken in Gröbming. If you're looking for a certain adrenaline kick, you've definitely come to the right place. Together with your friends, you glide down the mountain into the valley on 4 parallel wire ropes without any intermediate supports. Speeds of up to 115 km/h can be reached. It's a real test of courage - but well worth the trip.
Finally, of course, I don't want to hide my own "vacation bucket list tip" from you:
I love sunrises, especially on the mountain! Therefore, my number 1 is a sunrise on the Rossbrand. You have to get up very early, but the view is worth it! You can reach the Rossbrand in about 40 minutes by car via Radstadt. The sun rises at about 5:30 a.m., so you'll be back at the Hotel Neubergerhof in time for breakfast.
We hope to be able to support you with our "vacation bucket list" in your vacation planning.
See you soon at the Neubergerhof!
